Junior Cole Howard made a splash in his debut with North Texas as he shot a 1-over par 73. He is tied for 10th place, three shots behind the leaders. Broussard had two birdies on the front nine and closed with three for the day. Led by junior Anthony Broussard’s 1-under par 71, the Mean Green is in 6 th place. “There is still a lot of golf left to be played and we still have a chance if we go out and compete like I know we are capable of”. “We had a couple of good scores out there but there is still a lot of room for improvement,” said North Texas head coach Jim Bob Jackson.
Washington State leads the field of 14 teams after an opening round of 5-under par 283. North Texas shot 4-over par 292 in the opening round that was also delayed for 90 minutes due to stormy weather. The second round of play was suspended due to lighting with five holes to play.
